Dr Whittaker graduate from Leicester Medical School in 1993.  After spending 5 years working at Coventry & Warwick Hospitals, he came to Wellesbourne as a GP trainee in 1997. He became a partner in 1999. He is a trustee for Shipston Home Nursing, a charity providing a hospice-at-home service in Wellesbourne and Shipston. Martin enjoys running, cycling and gardening when time allows.

Dr Read-Jones is a full time GP and maintains a specialist interest in skin surgery and dermatology. As an accredited "GP With Special Interest" (GPwSI) in skin surgery he receives referrals from many South Warwickshire practices.  He performs joint and soft tissue injections  as part of this extended surgery service. His other roles include training GP registrars and providing enhanced medical services to our local nursing home.  He regularly represents the practice at Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) meetings. He is a keen gardener and when time permits he tries to hit a ball of either the stationary or moving variety.

Dr Jo Piercy qualified from Birmingham in 1993. She spent her first few years doing a variety of hospital posts and gained MRCP in 1996. She then worked as a registrar in Haematology for 18 months before embarking on her GP training, which she completed in 2000. She worked happily as a salaried GP for 12 years at Shipston Medical Centre. At this time, she also lectured at Birmingham and Warwick Medical Schools helping undergraduate medical students in the area of communication skills. Dr Piercy then moved to Hastings House to become a GP partner. Her clinical interests include diabetes and education. She continues to help with the teaching of medical students at Hastings House, running a programme of weekly educational meetings to ensure the clinical team keep up to date. Dr Piercy is married with two children who have provided her with an introduction to the world of football. She enjoys keeping fit through tennis, cycling and running. Dr Piercy started a book club in her village which meets at the pub, nicknamed “the wine club”.

She has clinical interests in women's health, family planning and paediatrics. In her spare time, she spends time with her family and enjoys music and travel.

Dr Preece graduated in Medicine from the University of Warwick in 2009.  He undertook most of his post-graduate training at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW), undertaking jobs in general medicine, paediatrics, surgery and palliative care.  Struggling to break free from the hustle and bustle of A&E medicine, he continued to work at UHCW until 2018.  Dr Preece is the prescribing lead for the practice and his particular areas of interest include dermatology, joint injections and palliative care.  He currently holds an honorary contract with Myton Hospices, a part-time role that he has held since 2012 and is an examiner with Warwick Medical School.  He used to be a keen sportsmen before he got too old and now enjoys being an un-paid taxi driver for his three children, often sitting in overly warm swimming pools or standing in the rain watching sport.

Dr Paul de Cates graduated in Medicine from Oxford in 2007, after first completing a degree in Medical Biochemistry. He completed his GP training in Coventry & Warwickshire in 2013 under the tutelage of Dr Kate Owen at Hastings House, whilst also working as an Academic Clinical Fellow at Warwick Medical School. He worked as a salaried GP in Daventry for 18 months, before joining Hastings House once again as a partner. Paul continues to work as an Academic GP at Warwick Medical School, where he leads the teaching, assessment and support for approximately 360 medical students in their final two years of the Medicine degree programme. He is also an External Examiner at Keele Medical School. Paul has a passion for choral singing, and previously performed as a member of several well-known choirs. Paul is married with two children.

Outside of work she has been a leader within Girlguiding UK for many years and also enjoys boating and water activities.

She has a great deal of knowledge about community services locally, especially those for older adults, for people with dementia, and for carers.
